Automation World Articles Based on Pigler Automation Presentations

Automation World, a publishing company specializing in industrial automation, wrote two articles last week based on Pigler Automation’s presentations at the Siemens Users Summit last summer. The first article, titled “Engineering Made Easy With Plant Automation Accelerator”, highlights the paper written by Alex North.  In this paper, Alex goes over why Pigler Automation turned to PAA, also known as Process Automation Accelerator, for several of their upgrade projects. PAA is “designed to reduce engineering work and shorten time to market through an object-oriented approach”.  Check out Automation World’s article here.

The second article Automation World wrote is titled “Using SIMIT For Operator Training”, and this article is based off Harry Pigler’s presentation at the Siemens User Summit on the SIMIT tool. Pigler Automation uses SIMIT to “create and customize an operator training simulation. The example used in his presentation was based on Pigler’s work with a three-unit hydropower plant. The managers of the power plant wanted to be able to train operations personnel, with a variety of experience levels, in an offline manner that would have no impact on plant operations”.  You can read the article here.
